Psalms 51-65

David wrote a lot of Psalms during his time of struggles and battles with Saul. Not many people can give praises to the Lord like David did when experience what David was experiencing. Some Psalms David wrote was cursing the enemy and crying for justice. David was being betrayed by his friends and soldiers which could endanger his life. He was scared and worried, but instead of being worried, he cried out to Lord.

Also, I found astonished when I read Psalms 51, which was written when the prophet Nathan  came to accuse David after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba. He admitted his sin to God and ask for forgiveness. If I were him, I would be to shame to even think of God. But David knew he is sinful, and most importantly, God did ask Nathan to confront David about his behavior. What if God did not talk to David though Nathan?
Psalm 51: 1-2 NIV “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”
Psalm 51:17 NIV “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.”

Continue reading

2 Samuel

Continue reading

1 Samuel

I summarized my version of Samuel, in Chinese, of course.

“Samuel was the last of the Hebrew Judges and the first of the major prophets who began to prophesy inside the Land of Israel.

Continue reading

2 Corinthians

2 cor 9:6 Aboundant

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

我还想分享一首歌,叫做 With all I am. Translate to English

1 Corinthians

Chapter 7 talks about marriages and intimate relationships. I am really inspired.

10:13 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

11:23-26 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

13:4-7 (NIV) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
